Bella Vita: A Post-Covid Ecolodge-Inspired Residential House

Embracing Nature and Sustainable Living

In a post-Covid world, where health and well-being have taken center stage, Bella Vita, an ecolodge-inspired residential house concept in Fayoum, Egypt, offers a sanctuary that nurtures the new norm for a post-Covid home.

Designed by Hisham Elessawy and his team, Bella Vita is a unique residential house that prioritizes balance, productivity, health, and tranquility. As people spend more time at home, working and learning remotely, the importance of a thoughtfully designed living space cannot be overstated.

What sets Bella Vita apart is its focus on sustainability and biophilic design. The house seamlessly integrates nature into every aspect, creating a harmonious connection between indoors and outdoors. Earth tones, natural materials, and greenery are used throughout the house, invoking a sense of calmness and well-being.

One of the standout features of Bella Vita is the integration of aquaponics systems. These state-of-the-art systems provide a source of natural food supply, promoting sustainable living and reducing the risk of accidental virus exposure. The aquaponics systems also offer numerous green benefits, such as water conservation and pollution-free agriculture.

The design team carefully selected colors, materials, and furniture pieces that enhance the overall well-being of the residents. Flowy curves in the architecture and furniture create a sense of balance and tranquility, while earthy textures stimulate the senses. The presence of greenery throughout the house decreases anxiety, increases memory, and boosts productivity.

Located in the serene city of Fayoum, Egypt, Bella Vita is a testament to the power of design in enhancing the quality of life. The house features a meditation room and a swimming pool, further promoting relaxation and stress relief. Every detail in the interior is thoughtfully designed to embrace and connect with the beauty of the surrounding nature.

The Bella Vita project started in March 2021 and was completed in June 2021 in Egypt. The design research behind the project relied on analytical and predictive methods, studying life aesthetics, pandemic echoes, and sustainability trends in interior design. The integration of aquaponics systems was a creative and technical challenge that the team successfully overcame.

Bella Vita has been recognized for its exceptional design and innovation. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2022 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the practicality, innovation, and fulfillment that Bella Vita brings to the world of interior design.

Bella Vita is not just a residential house; it is a testament to the power of design in promoting well-being, sustainability, and a harmonious connection with nature. In a post-Covid world, Bella Vita offers a glimpse into the future of residential living, where balance and tranquility are paramount.
